This is an imaginary scene that I dreamt up with some encouragement from my wife, who asked me to paint something “romantic” with a dinner table.  I had a lot of fun painting it, allowing my imagination to run wild and making ample use of “golden ratios” (1: 1.613) in positioning key features, such as the sun and the edge of the gate.
