In 2011 my wife and I took a vacation in France and based ourselves at a beautiful spot in Connelles on the River Seine. We toured the area, including a visit to Monet’s garden at Giverny. We were blessed by beautiful weather.
This painting shows the famous water garden. However, the iconic Japanese bridge is now overgrown with wisteria, so I have painted the similar bridge at the other end of the lily pond. The still day meant that the reflections in the water were nearly perfect.
